Search Engine Optimization:
Step Three: Surf22 Internet Marketing Program
Let the truth be known here, there is no magic formula to rank in the top ten of
EVERY search engine. Also submitting to 400 (or 1500) search engines is
usually a waste of money considering no-one uses all these search engines. There
are however ways you can score higher on the search engines, it just takes work.
Follow these steps and save your money for now.
Is it worth it? 85% of traffic is said to come from the top search engines. Only
problem is there are already millions of pages already indexed. As an example
Google claims to have over 4,000,000,000 web pages indexed (and counting). Where will yours
fall? Don't despair, everything you need to know is listed below. Just be
patient, the search engines are slow and it takes time. The huge amount of
traffic you will generate from a top 30 position is definitely worth it.
Don't even bother with this first step until you have gotten your site
intact. In case you missed it go back and read about Meta
Tags here.
Final Checklist before Submitting:
-
Does every page have a descriptive, keyword based (yet comprehensible)
title?
-
Does each page have keywords added?
-
Does each page have a well written description that is filled with
keywords yet will entice readers to visit your site over the competition?
-
Are the meta tags the first thing in your HTML code after the <head>
tag
-
Are their any broken links anywhere? Fix Them!
Everything checks? Before we start submitting understand to maximize your
success this needs to be done manually. Later on you can use automated software
but this is too important to take a chance on. Don't waste more time than you
have to. Submit to 500 (or 4000) search engines for $99? Remember you are giving
your money away. No-one uses that many different search engines.
Ready to start promoting? Go to the Search Engine
Listings
That wasn't so bad was it? The key is to understand that it will take time.
All you are doing now is getting the search engines attention. Your
initial goal is just to get listed, we'll improve your ranking as we go. Create
yourself a chart to track your results and once a week return to the search
engines using the listing page above and search for your domain name. Remember
most take weeks if not months, don't get discouraged. Track your results and
move on to Step Four, you are doing great!
